I got back home Sat. evening after my second day on the road from VA where I left Friday am. Rode 10 hours and got 493 miles or 793.5 km. Way too long for me but I was motivated to just get home. Had a wonderful time with Graham and Aïda!!!! Willville is the bees knees!!!
While on the Skyline Drive on the Thursday tooling about in the higher altitude's cool, my friend in VA and I passed an Overlook pull-over called Horseshoe and all the Park warden's were there peering over the low stone wall. A lady had driven her car over the embankment to her death!!! I sure hope she had a heartattack first! Horrible to imagine!
On a happier note I did get to Walton's Mountain Museum ('70's TV show called the Walton's) in Schuyler, VA as my mecca destination and got a copy of the Baldwin sister's "recipe"!!
I am watching the technical section here in the forum with much interest to see what Graham and Aïda come up with as the reason for his bike's ignition to fail.
As a result of a long trip, in the heat, and the anxiety of all the stuff I deal with on these long trips, I have decided to buy the Suzuki DR200 that Micatech's owners have for sale and, for once, just have some fun. Might even sell the Bonnie but would keep LRB as we are blood brothers/sisters.....he had his idle tweaked by no less than Joe Katz of MOA fame!! Just guessing on a cold engine...he cranked it in perfectly to 1050rpm. Yeah and I did my usual....let LRB fall down with all the camping gear weight and he crushed my foot...it was trapped....so I then did a Walter Brennan imitation...didn't break it but sure is sore. Waited until I arrived at the Cass rally to do the fall so I had help instantly! And that is with the good adventure boots on from Forma! I saw so many ladies wearing sandals on the back of the harley's!!! Not to mention T shirts and shorts and even just a bra!

What are they thinking??? Aïda and I say they can't have very vivid imaginations!!
