friends & neighbours,
just came in to report about the annual tour of the german kleine-boxer-forum in switzerland. We started on sunday, may 20th in Remscheid Autobahn-truckstop with three bmw-bikes way south. In Koenigswinter (@the river Rhine) a fourth beemer joined us. On the first day we headed down in the Odenwald-Area and met some more colleages from the "chapter" *g* at the home of Thom (who is a forum-member of kbf too). There we had a friendly arrival with good food, drinking and a comfortable rest to sleep.
The next day we encountered a wonderful trip through the vogese-mountains (?) in france as a starting ramp further down south. We reached near our aim at Realp at about ten in the evening. Only had to cross the Dammastock-massive via the Furka-pass (el. 2436m o.SL on the top; 46°34[ch8242]22[ch8243]N, 8°25[ch8242]00[ch8243]E).
On top we were gathered by Sebastian (who is swiss-resident) to our refuge in Geschinen, upper Goms-Valley. We had an extraordinary superb week round abouts! Let the pictures speak.

Just started looking. Great photos! question, Did the bike with the large silver fairing brake down, is that yellow car & trailer road service in pics 063-065? crackeed rotor in 015-016?

Hi Rich,
the crack on pict. 15/16 by Sebastian showed up on the brake-disk of Benedikt (RanGer), a single front-brake on a '86 R65 Monolever. The crack didn't proceed any further and was regarded as "safe" for the endurance of the tour (what -of course- turned out to be so). New disk is already ordered.
The bike with the delta-fairing encountered a burn-through of the ignition-coil. The original ignition-setup was altered some a year ago due to problems with the fixing of one of the single-coils. The replacement was a S&H double-coil. Because of some reasons (that are not apt to mention :o ) the coil overheated and "spit out" the metal kernel. For that guy the tour was over; replacement was not available in any bmw garages in the vicinity. Luckily Hachi was well covered by insurance ;)
bye, Stefan

Still going through the photos! Loving them! Absinthe eh? I hear it has some special qualities.

Hi Rich,
I'm happy that you like the pictures. Yes, Absinthe is decent :)
There was a prohibition until a decade ago. But they re-legalized it,
because the inauthorical stuff had certain dangers (e.g. becoming
blind, cutting off ones ear).
take care, Stefan

As the cleaning lady here at work would say: "Muy bueno! Mucho bonita!"

I wonder if dogs have different languages?

I wonder if dogs have different languages?
I don't think so, Rob. Our American Bulldog never did what we wanted him to do. So I tried to adress to him in english because I thought it was his native language an it might be easier for him to understand. ...it wasn't.
;D
