Dear friends,
here are some pics from the last weekend. We´ve had about 30 riders from the Kleine-Boxer-Forum for three days at our house. And we rode through the Lüneburger Heide in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) and to the port of Hamburg.
Hope you like the pics. :D

The silver-coloured LS with the yellow number plate is a dutch one. It´s still standing exactly at this position, because right at the beginning of the tour it had a severe clutch damage. The owner will take his bike home to the Netherlands at the next weekend.

The young couple at the other side of the table is Panos an his girlfriend. They came by plane from Greece and rode the R65 of my wife (and she rode in a sidecar of another BMW). Panos is a member of this forum, too.

Lovely as always Dirk! Thank you!
I just hope you don't mind I share the thread with the guys at Boxerworks!
-
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that "boring" us with your photos is the last thing that's ever gonna happen!
Thanks as always, Dirk.
-
Lovely as always Dirk! Thank you!
I just hope you don't mind .....
No, of course not, Rob. It´s ok. :)

Dirk, once again, a wonderful photographic travelogue! I've been meaning to ask what kind of digital camera you use. It takes very sharp and focused photos, whatever brand it is!
I love that R75 with the Gläser fairing! That would be so cool to have on Britta! And that was one lovely red R45, too! Outstanding group of Beemers! I was wondering if you have any friends who ride KTM bikes? Just curious!
Again, great photos! Thanks for offering to share them with us! I hope I can get some good photos to share with everyone at the BMW Rider's Association national rally this weekend! ;)
-
Thats it!
Thats all I can take! Motorcycle tour of Germany and environs has been added and moved to top of my list of things to do before I... Must learn at least enough German to order lunch and get in a fist fight! http://german.about.com/library/anfang/blanfang01.htm
C'mon now how 'bout an r65.org trip to meet up with the kleinenboxer members. This could be great!
Rich

Danke, Rich. I bookmarked that page! ;D

<snip> Must learn at least enough German to order lunch and get in a fist fight! <snip>
Please move to Western Oregon.
If I go on a tour of Germany, I don't intend to remember much of it.
-
Dirk, way cool, as usual! :-) What did your neighbors think of being invaded by motorcycle "hoodlums" for a weekend?
-
Justin, I told the neighbours to check if it´s intelligent or not to call the cops, because the German police rides BMW, too. ;D
-
Cool! It's always good to have friends in high places. ;D
-
Hi Dirk,
[...] because the German police rides BMW, too. ;D
...as for this nice BMW ;D

Now that is a real nice /5, Dirk! I suppose those are just pictures you stole off of eBay?
In other words, you do not know the owner?
-
Yes, Rob, you are right. :-[
But it is a lovely /5, isn´t it? It was sold for 3500,-$.
My 75/6 had been a white Police bike for 20 years. I would give my first born son to get the original colour back. :-/

...from times everything was made of wood and we had a 'Wehrmacht™' :D
Nowadays it looks like this (at least hereabouts):
The image of Germany you promote -esp. East- is kind of "romantic", Dirk. Of course there are such wrecked mansions like those you show (as an exception), but mostly the folks here live in modern circumstances. Such as recent sanitary facilities and electric current (AC 220V). When you take a look in the big cities (Dresden, e.g.) they had a lavish city-development to make us 'old' federal states become green with envy.
take care, Stefan

cheers for that Dirk
