Has anyone out there had experience with the BMW F650 scarver..or F650. How did ya like it? What does the rumor mill say about them>

...and you told your wife the new sidecar rig would be your last motorcycle. [smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif]
I occasionally visit this forum:

The word I've heard is that the seat is miserable after 50 miles, valve adjustment is akin to a heart transplant, and they don't do anything really well. Neat looking bike though.

Check out http://www.f650.com/, I go there all the time when I need help to fix my CS.

I had a F650GS single. A bit top heavy and involved too much work for an oil change what with that oil reservoir. A bit buzzy but never stopped me on my longest out west trip ever. Solid performer. Did well keeping up with friend's R1100RT. I am sure all these newer bikes would be a pain doing the valve checks...I guess they are all shim and bucket. I have something against shim and bucket...probably because I've never done it and I like simple things....for simple minds :D
I liked the lightness and the seat with a sheepie did fine for me. Loved the gas mileage!! And the F650 forum is smashing! Steve Johnson heads up Chaingang and he is simply so keen that it is infectious!!

Sue, you also had the F800/650(?) twin, right, the one that reared up and tried to kill you? Did anyone ever figure out what mechanical issues happened there?

Steve...the bottom line was I fell asleep. The jury is still out but no evidence of bike failure as it was so burnt one could not tell anything. Only suspicious thing I found out last year was that I was found 15 feet AHEAD of the bike which is weird considering I fell asleep. The bike went down so hard that it seems inconsistent to the falling asleep theory. Front rt. forks torn out of upper and lower yokes and rear wheel torn off lying to the side with a huge 30 degree chunk broken away outta the rim. Broken rear chain?? 43 chains broke when pretty new as reported. Who knows. It's over but a wee bother still.
