Title: Still one of the prettiest Triumphs ever!
Post by: SCJJR65 on February 24, 2011, 04:59:32 PM
The 1973 X-75 Hurricane, designed by Craig Vetter.... Still one of the most beautiful bikes ever made in the 70s!  (IMHO, of course!)   ;)

Just had to post and share!

The tank and side panel is one piece? Hahaha, I dig the front brakes and exhaust setup.

You have very good taste John! That is stunning. I wonder if triumph ever toys with this model as a retro? Seems to me it might get some favourable attention.

Here's an opportunity for you, John. Just a bit south of you. ;)

This 1973 Craig Vetter hot rod Triumph Hurricane is going on the block at the Daytona Speed Week Bator auction. Someone will go home with this bike as it's a "No Reserve" listing.

Couple interesting Airheads available, too.

I *think* that I saw an article of someone who did mod-up an early 2000 Triumph 900 Triple like this, but despite their efforts the engine just didn't look right - have to look for it..

A good friend of mine had a purple and white Trident with the "ray gun" style silencers.    He tried to sell it to me but I ended up buying a Yamaha at the bike shop where he worked.  My Yamaha was much more easy to start, but it could never sound as cool as that Trident did!

If I had the extra dough, I'd be mighty tempted to go for a Hurricane in good condition.  Probably would be a good investment.  But, Hell, I don't even have a bike right now!  Hopefully soon....  :-/
