I think this is either just a styling exercise by Triumph, or maybe a private owner's customized bike. But don't ya wish Triumph would actually produce a Bonneville like this? I'm drooling just looking at it! :P
-
Hmm, looks a bit like a mix of some parts from the Thruxton model and the America model.
Looks very sharp to me, too !

If Triumph produced this bike with tubeless tires and fuel injection (on the new Bonnies), and added a tach, selling at a comparable price, I'd be the very first one in line.
Abso-effing-lutely beautiful [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Nice! Still don't like the angular pipes with the kink in 'em before the silencers. A nice set of Dunstalls would fix that.

The first pic looks like a new Bonneville Black Classic which has had pinstripes added. You can get a huge array of accessories for the Bonnies:

Who knows maybe one can even get a pinstriped kit. It wouldn't take much to get a Triumph to look that good nowadays. And It does look good!!
With all the seat cowling and cam cover colour choices or choose a single seat with the luggage rack, boy, one can really individualize these bikes. I like all the Classics especially the Thruxton but I am old enough to lust sensibly (thinking of my back) after a Black or the T100 and put a bunch of neat accessories on it. I would want the tach accessory added as well. You know, I am mighty tempted!!! I don't suppose LRB would mind such a stablemate??? With one of the bigger windscreens for touring and some soft or Hepco Becker bags which they make for the Triumph...this bike could go places, as they all can, but hey, wouldn't it be nice too?
I don't know what the prices are except I think I saw $7,200 something for the black and more in the 8k's for the T100. That is a US price. All the 2009 Triumphs are fuel injected now. They had to go that way to meet some emission standards I think. Should get good fuel mileage. I am not at all opposed to the carbureted models.

I don't know if they are going to put it into production or if I will be able to afford it. :(

OKeey - what is it? No SG, I'm rather at a loss myself as to your statement..... [smiley=huh.gif]. Is that flat thing the speedo? Interesting bike....though I really don't like those type of seats. (Like they care? ;)) Is that black thingy at the rear (behind the shock) an indicator? If so - where is the front one?
Sorry - i'm a bit confused on this one (I don't know whether I am ambivalent about it; like it or hate it). There - I think I've covered all bases.... ;)

Google Yamaha XS-V1 Sakura for other pics of that bike. It is a "prototype" shown at the Tokyo Motorcycle show in 2007. Looks like they want to do a retro resembling the old HD K model which I believe was the first of the sportsters. Nice look in the ever growing "retro" offerings that many bike companies have in their lineup.

I knew there was a better picture out there!
Crikey. I should never pick motorcycle magazines :o
"flat thing the speedo" - yes.
Front signals? - I don't know - gotta have 'em though.
OooOoOOoooo....
-
Yes, I also saw some earlier pics of the prototype last year and was a bit lusting after it - it seems to have gotten a bit more "stylized" from the earlier pic, but
it still has its good points, I think, though not all of the styling exercises employed on this incarnation will make it into a production unit (I hope!).
There was a fellow who managed a small high tech company down the same road that I used to work on that had a very nice, but not immaculate HRD that was just marvelous to hear purring down the road in the morning.
-
You are right. It does look "different" somehow. Hmmmmm....

have to say it looks like a "girls" bike, to me it just does't look "manly", needs a colour change etc....
