Title: This looks familiar?
Post by: ukzknos on May 16, 2009, 05:20:20 AM
Hi Guys

I'm currently working in China and just came across this 'lesser make' but none the less an interesting copy of something familiar!

The grips and that car seat add a little bit of 'bling' to the whole outfit!  ;D The shifter looks a trifle low to me....

<Smiles> - why it even has the leg shields that Rob loves so much!

Is it a police bike?

Its a copy of the war time BMW with the cam shaft above the crankshaft. . . Updated of course.   :D

I love the "earls" fork and the stamped rims.

I've seen several "Chang Jiang"s around here with sidecars attached.  There is even someone by the coast who managed to upgrade one of these sidecar rigs with a genuine BMW /7 powerplant and lots of custom machined parts.    I'd never seen one of these with those stamped wheels though !   Very interesting - and thanks for sharing the pics!

Hi, I also work in China, the Chinese were allowed to build the old R75.s that Russia siezed as war payments in 1945. The Cossack.Ural were direct copies of the old R75's, but the chinese are junk compared to the Russian versions.

Very interesting! A couple of years back I caught a couple of R65s "in the wild" while in the china town section of San Francisco. I think your genuine Chinese "in the wild" shot beats it! Thanks for thinking to post it for us to see! Excellent.

Just had to view their website. Dunno 'bout you but the "Dong Titan" model has a curious ring to it ;D
