Title: Oilhead owners
Post by: Bob_Roller on October 14, 2019, 06:50:38 PM
I check the tire pressures on the oilhead on the last day of my weekend .

Today I found the rear tire at 15 psi found a small bolt in the tire .

The oilheads have a tire repair kit with the tool kit .

I've had mine for a little over 17 years, the rubber cemnt was hardened and the plugs broke when I tried to insert them with auto repair cement .

May want to check yours to see what condition they are in I guess 17 years of desert heat wasn't kind to these parts !!

I've been lucky, I have found punctures when at home, so far have not gotten stranded on the road .

The 04 R1150R I just bought came with the BMW tire patch kit
I took it out and threw it in the box of other crap i have removed from the Bike
I didn't even think of trying to rely on it
I carry a Dynaplug kit and my brother in law  carries a Stop and Go plug kit
between the 2 we should be good
