Been an unusual month for weather here in Phoenix, I have lived here 25 years and it has only rained once, a 15 minute thunderstorm 13 years ago .
This month, I've gotten 6.75 inches of rain, 17 cm and it's only the thirteenth of the month .
That is close to our average annual rain fall .
Temperatures are 20-25 F below normal .
Air conditioning has been off so far this month, last year, I had it on until the beginning of the second week of November .

Where were these colder than normal temps last month???
Visited family in SoCal then drove to Peoria to see my newest grandchild. (Sept 17th). Its been almost 20 years since I moved to WA from Mojave. I had forgotten what summer time desert temps were like. I don't miss it. hahaha

That sure was one extreme to amnother 8-) My Son moveed to the Northwest last year. This year will be the one that tells if he is going to "stick". Lots of folks come back after they realize why it's so green and beautiful up there. ;D

Bob, I have a hard time believing it's only rained one time in the past 25 years! :-?
-
Yeah, should have read only one time during the month of October in the last 25 years !!!!!

I would love to have just a single rainstorm in October. With the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Okefenokee Swamp to the west of me I have a daily downpour. My yard will take a hay bailer when I finally get to cut it.

That's more like it, Bob!
We are in the middle of the wettest fall in history, bout to float away! We've had over 8" of rain since last Friday... [smiley=tongue.gif]

I'm on the dry side of the Cascades, so its not quite as green as the Seattle side. It did take a bit to get used to the snow, but I love it here.
When I wake up in the morning, I look out my bedroom window and I get to look at this.

I have taken Highway 2 right through your town years ago and it is just as you have pictured it, beautiful.

Another lovely morning here... thought i would take a spin up to Squires but disaster struck, as i cranked up Gertie started spraying fuel everywhere, lines have perished ? looks like I will be off the road for a while as I need to do a long over due carb rebuild may as well order all the parts and get on with it.

Lou - I had that happen on the R100 a little while back, sux!
But, the weather has cleared up for a couple of days so I'm not feeling as grumpy as I did the last week or so...

Here in South Australia we have just had our wrest winter for many, may years. Although I have used my aircon for heating I was not seriously cold this year at all.
.
Here in South Oz I get at least 9 months of riding weather - and we have some wonderful and very diverse roads and byways - tropical & desert like & alpine & mountainous - and roads that never end.
.
After several years of rebuilding the old girl is almost ready for the road ;)

when I see the pictures you blokes put up and the roads and rides you make, jealous don't describe it, I live on the outskirts of London inside the M25 motorway that surrounds it, only time I ain't in traffic is in a lay-by or parked up.

Hi mate - I remember those days - that was before I moved to South Australia - great weather & vast open spaces & roads without end.
.
You have my sympathy - although I do miss hacking through country lanes in the sun - I hope you find the time & space to enjoy your ride [ch128077][ch128521]

I thought the M25 was a car park !!
We sometimes visit friends near Horsham which involves rolling the dice near the M4 and Heathrow, doesnt matter what day or what time you allways get held up. I cannot think how bad it will be when they expand Heathrow or who thought it was a good idea to do that.
