Title: Kenda k761 dual sport tire
Post by: Luke D. on July 01, 2018, 06:35:33 PM
Good day all,  I have a trip planned for Alaska in two years and I have already been looking for nice tires.  I have an 82 r65ls and I am looking for more of an "adventure" type tire.  It is kind of hard finding ones that match the tires I have on there now (110/90 x 18 rear and  100/90 x 18 front)  I have found these tires, Kenda k761 dual sports but the only size close enough is a 110/80 x 18.  I understand the aspect ratio but do you think it would make much of a difference having an 80 verses a 90?  I guess I am really wondering if these tires would work on my LS?  And if anyone has tried them here.  Thank you for your help and have a great day.

Good day again,  I know I started this thread about the Kenda tire but since I am asking about a tire that is that size (110/80 x 18) I should ask about another tire the same size.  I honestly didn't want to make a tire thread as there as tons of them but I am interested.  The Pirelli MT90 (rear tire) 110/80 x 80 looks to have a nice tread but has a load and speed rating less than the Kenda.  Thanks again for your help.

I would probably vary the width rather than the height.  I have tri-y rims on my monoshock and run 90 / 90 on the front, 120/90 on the rear.  The dual shock swingarm clearance is a little tighter in the rear so you may not be able to go to a 120.

I like the 90/90 in the front vs a 100/90 because it makes the handling much more crisp.
