Am I the only person that does this?

MY wife wouldn't let them on the tree!

Sounds kinda cool but I don't think the limbs on my fake tree would be strong enough to support them. When would REALLY be neat would be to gut the plug and put a red LED on the tip end and drive it with something that would make the LED flash! :)

Well, Lou, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. When I got married I had a motorcycle in pieces and my new, understanding, bride didn't give me a lot of grief when I assembled these boxes of parts into a motorcycle in the living room. I would have gotten out relatively unscathed had I remembered to put in the drain plug before I started dumping oil into the beast...
I guess all's well that ends well and that was 40 years ago and she hasn't tossed me out yet!
Mike - if you made 'em light up and look festive you might get away with it, I wuz just tryin' to help ya out...

Justin - it might not be too hard to do if we could remove the center electrode through the body - I may have to try a "proof of concept" with some used plugs in the garage and some small high efficiency LEDs

That was kinda my thought...
