Superised our aviation buffs until know have not posted that Bob Hoover passed today.

What a shame.

I met him briefly in Tasmania when he was in Australia obtaining an Australian licence during the period that his US licence was withdrawn.

My overall impression of him was a courteous, even "courtly" gentleman - his flying of course spoke for itself, I would aspire to being a 10th as good a pilot as he was.
