We've got a serial shooter / sniper roaming the highways of the Phoenix area now .
Just what I need one more person trying to kill me on my way to work !!!!
As if the other 10,000 vehicles on the road at this time of day, wasn't enough of a hazard !!!! ;D ;D

Pretty sick stuff wonder what the advice is.... ride faster. There was a recent case in Germany where a guy was taking pot shots at trucks (fortunately not drivers) but the only advice I could give is ride faster....maybe this is more helpful.

That's kinda funny, Lou. Dial up and get shooting tips on elevation, windage, bullet drop and other helpful tips.

No, it's for reporting suspicious activity .
That photo, was taken 2 miles south of me .
Also, notice the tire debris on the right side of the road, that's what the roadways look like from May through October, because drivers don't regularly check their tire pressures .
In the extended hot season, even new tires lose 1 psi a week, doesn't take too long to get a tire underinflated .

Now we are getting technical Monte had a hell of a day on the range this morning, pity it was not a comp shoot as every one I sent down went into the black 5 groups of 10 at that point I packed up and went home as I knew it could not get any better , i have changed powder now shooting Alliant "Unique" on .357 and 45/70. 3.6 grn and 13 grn with 158grn and 405grn heads respectively technical enough lol.
Any way rest assured I have not sneaked back into the US of A without calling to see you all, I down loaded the picture.
Seriously though Bob I hope they catch this muppet before he/she does some serious damage however reading the article that was with the picture they are speculating that there may be more than one shooter.

I checked my caravan tyres before setting off to Wales a few weeks back with my Grandkids about 150 miles and 10 miles from my destination had this blowout... fortunately the rim survived, the wheel arch (a bit of plastic) cost more than the tyre Dooh [smiley=wall.gif] ,

I went out to look at an old Guzzi for sale in a far eastern suburb of Phoenix, Apache Junction also known as ' AJ '.
I get on the expressway right around where that picture was taken .
Normally, I can't set the cruise control for about 12 miles due to the traffic .
I got on set the cruise control and didn't disengage it for 40 miles, traffic was that light, at best one third of normal .
Looks like people are avoiding the limited access highways in the area .
A lot of law enforcement on the highway, marked and unmarked .
This wasn't I-10, or Interstate 10, it was a highway that loops around the Phoenix area, Loop 202 Santan freeway . ( Named for the Santan Mountains that are close to it . )
But, none the less there was an abnormal amount of law enforcement there, rarely ever see any in this area .
And no, I didn't get the Guzzi, it was a basket case and the price was not even realistic !!!!! ;D

Oddly enough while I was at Squires today I was looking at an advert for a Guzzi Florida 650 it looked intresting at £ 1250 with only 6500 mile if to be believed.

The Guzzi V65 series bikes, are quite similar to the R65's, still have points ignition I know at least up to the '87 model year bikes .
Easy to work on and parts are available, at least in the US .

Law enforcement arrested a person that was confirmed to be responsible for 4 of the shootings .
He pawned the handgun he used, state law requires the pawnshop to have the gun ballistically tested, the test showed the gun had fired bullets that were recovered from the vehicles .
Three teens were arrested last weekend, for using a slingshot to hit vehicles and pedestrians in a southern suburb of Phoenix and believed responsible for hitting vehcles on an expressway a mile or so north of the area where vehicles and people were hit .

Glad to hear that progress has been made on this - those highways can be tough to navigate anyway without having to worry about dodging projectiles!
I hope that the book is thrown at all the perpetrators with full force.
-
Classic statement from the arrested shooter... "Ya got the wrong guy."
Maybe that'll work for him in prison when Big Bubba comes looking for a girlfriend.

I had to work in the L.A. area around 1989, right after a series of freeway shootings. I have never seen such polite drivers as I did down there. In that case, though, I think it was bad drivers who were being targeted, not just anybody at random.

Hi Bob - So it's safe to drop in on you the next time I drive though Phoenix?
