Title: Did Clarkson get it wrong ?
Post by: Lucky_Lou on February 26, 2014, 01:05:21 PM
Top gear has started  again and the first few shows have been pretty good with visits to unusual and dangerous places such as Afghanistan Chernobyl and Paris....... this week Jeremy showed a motorway/ Freeway sign which he said was in Texas and he would like to buy the person responsible a drink, when you Google the sign it says its in Tennessee........ who is right ?? the sign on the show did not have the Memphis caption.

Memphis has been the one in the news this winter.

The trouble is, they get so much ice, and there is just no dealing with that stuff!

If that sign was posted on a Tejas highway, it would have been done via Texas Department of Transportation and would likely have made all the TV news stations.

Although it's just weird enough to have come from Austin.

Um, yes there is. We do it year after year. No big deal if you are prepared.

I had a very nice ride out at the weekend with temperatures a balmy 18c+ this time last year I had 2 ft of snow in my garden and Woolley Edge just up the road had 10ft snow drifts. I suppose if you regularly experience various conditions it does become "normal" but when I am out on the road I am always aware of the muppets who are clueless to the conditions.
