Title: Oil leaks fixing themselves
Post by: Julio A. on February 03, 2014, 08:51:35 AM
I'm just dumbfounded by the R65's apparent healing capabilities.

I had a leaking valve cover. After a good layer of crud built up under the engine I used up a can of degreaser to clean it all up. After two weeks of use, the bottom side of the valve covers are still dry and clean like I left it.

My newly installed SS pushrod tube protectors leaked bit on the right side and leaked a little more on the left. they were leaking from the top, not at the rubber grommet at the bottom. After a month or so, they both stopped leaking.

Same thing on the engine oil pan, i used to leak then I eventually stopped.

No additives, no sealers, the gaskets are all OEM, and yes, the engine still has oil. I just checked and replaced it yesterday.   ;D

Blessings on you, Julio. Just smile, accept the gift from the Gods of Motoradd and ride clean, my son.  ;D
