Title: Gas Grille Surprise
Post by: Bob_Roller on October 12, 2013, 11:42:39 AM
Went out to start my gas grille yesterday .

Lit the first burner, then open the valves for the other two burners, when the other two burners lit off, there was a thumping / thrashing sound coming from inside the grille .

Backed off a few steps and saw something fall out of the bottom of the grille, smoking .

About 5 seconds later a rat scrambled up the wall between the neighbooring property, stopped on top for a few seconds .

I could see that just about all of the fur / hair on the rat was singed off !!!!

This the first I've seen any trace of rats in my backyard for over two years now .

I got the electric rat zapper out of the attic and set it under a shrub and then placed four bait stations in the general area .

I'll see if there is any bait taken or a deceased rat in the electric rat trap when I get home this afternoon !!!!!

Yowza!

Makes ya wonder why some hamburgers taste different?

Now you'll have to leave yourself a sticky note on the grill "Check for rats before lighting"...   I'd hate that!

I've got some 1/4 inch mesh screen, I'll cut two pieces off to cover the holes on the bottom of the grille .

At least he wasn't in the attic or garage !!!!! ;D ;D

I've hear the phrase "rat burger" before, but I think you are taking it too seriously.

Question is, did anybody send their food back because they found a hair in it?

I had that very same thing happen a couple of years ago, when we were living in SoCal.  Tree rats were a common sight there.  After I got over the initial shock I almost peed myself laughing!

I'm told squirrels are just rats wearing a cute disguise.

Hugh Laurie may be known for other stuff in the US of A But Blackadder will always be his best work.

I'll eat squirrel without question, but I won't eat rat unless we are in some sort of zombie apocalypse situation...
