just ordered a set, any thoughts?

I believe the Michelin web site lists them as being suitable for our airheads and I doubt Michelin makes a completely rubbish tyre so I would consider them at the next change. They are certainly very cheap and rather than that being totally reflected in their performance it may be as much to do with the fact that they are marketed as a commuter tyre. and priced accordingly. That wasn't always the case. I remember reading a review of M45's being fitted to a Ducati and there were no complaints about the tyres grip.
I doubt you'll find much recent experience of them on airheads so I'm keen to hear how you get on with them.
-
Fitted them on mine when I did the rebuild I liked the "retro" look and have ridden in all conditions without any issues, I have done over 4000 miles on them, the back tyre is starting to square off and I will probably replace it before next MOT but I will stick with them when I do.

Pirrelli City Demons, (also commuter tyres) and I'm having trouble getting them to wear out. Front has 2.6mm left at 10857 miles and rear 4.3mm at 7783 miles.
By commuter tyres I don't mean they are only good for commuting. Tyres like M45's and City Demons are made in sizes to suit modern commuter type bikes so they are often named, marketed and priced as such. I like the fact that they do inch sizes. 4.00 x 18 being the widest in the range.

trouble getting them to wear out? TRY HARDER! lol

TRY HARDER! lol
I promise to try !
Trouble is, with only doing 2000 miles per year the rubber starts getting harder before they wear out and that slows the wear rate even more.
I'll be ditching this set while there is still tread left.

mines got metzeler lazers on at the moment , the treads near enough like new theyre only seven years old (dates on the side) , but the cracks in the sidewalls are more than a little disconcerting! probably due to non use whilst in storage , and it came from boulder colorado , hey, wonder if i could get an original plate for it? mmm

new tyres £93.00 from national , think i might shave 'em before i fit 'em!
-
They look good. Very much like a dual sport tread pattern.
-
yeah they look ok , they suit the bike, the downside is i may have to have a touch more weld added to the centre stand , barely any clearance at the rear wheel !

The problem may be the stand "stop" mine was worn and allowing the stand to go too far forward reducing the clearance, a little weld and grind job on the frame should sort it.
This is Gertie with her boots.......
