Title: Good opening night
Post by: nhmaf on July 27, 2012, 11:04:44 PM
A congratulations to our friends across the pond in London and its environs - the opening show for the Olympic games was very good - my wife and I were well entertained and anytime we get to see Mr Bean, it is always a riot!  Of course, her Majesty the Queen was  pretty good too.

Thanks

Danny Boyle did us proud even if it might have been too surreal in parts for a world wide audience. Some nice touches of wit and humour thrown in helped to balance things out. You need a laugh now and again when it lasts over 3 hours. I stayed up until 1.00am in the morning.

Her Majesty sky diving with 007 James Bond. Now that's surreal.

The NHS bit was rather odd. My bride said, "I'll bet Mr. Obama likes that."

And appears candidate Romney has again stepped on his crank during his visit to England.

I've has mixed feelings from my USA suppliers re the opening night. You really have to be British to really understand the entire night.

The key thing is we did a great job and the medal count since opening night is excellent, on a head of population count we lead the world!

Not bad for the brits...

A laughable news report today which said 90% if the British population had "seen" the Olympics on TV...... truth is you cannot get away from them with 25 dedicated channels and rolling news reports, frankly i am more interested in the exploits of "Curiosity" which only managed a 2 minute news bulletin unless you knew where to look.
The landing has to have been the brainchild of Danny Boyle.

Congratulations to the Quarterback.
