Guns.....I regulary take part in a SASS events about every 3 to 4 months i have been trying to win this thing for over 5 years, made it to the semi finals regularly and the final a couple of times but never won it.
The event is not just "Fast Draw" you have to take a flap down with a target hole of just 1" so you need to be very accurate as well as fast.
It usualy has about 50 shooters and the trophys are all hand made and all individual this event winner.....The Wife first woman to win in many years OMG i will never live it down.
The Missuses gun a Stafford Hill (Colt) is about as good as you can get here i shoot with my Trinity (Remmington).
Dare say she will let me clean the trophy now and again.

I hate it when that stuff happens.
Don't feel too bad, Lou. She's probably had some good coaching (you) and been practicing while you're out earning the daily bread. Yeah, that's what happened... ;)

Cheer up, Lou, my ol' lady's a crack shot, too! Tell her congrats for me...

Gee whiz, that is a tough piece of humble pie to swallow!
Maybe you and she need to consider changing your SASS nick names...
;)
Congratulations to the missus - those competitions can get very challenging!

My " Cowboy" name is.... Lucky Lou so i dont get confused having too many aliases....
Diane first had a go at the SASS events a couple of years back, i figured my Remmy would be too heavy for her so my friend "Copperhead" loaned her a 7 1/2 barrelled Colt as it is a well balanced gun result, she hit 6 out of 6 no mean feat....she immediately got the nickname "Deadeye" and though she has never been that quick she does always hit what she aimed at.
It seems that she has just "clicked" during this event i thought she had done really well to get to the semi final and as Copperhead and i (owner of the 7 1/2 Colt) watched and i was frankly staggered how quick she was compared to the previous rounds.
It was only the second time she had used the gun which i bought for her last year (you could buy a R65 for less !!) and told me that it was having her own that gave her the confidence,
I suspect she will get a lot of respect from her opponents in future and i may have to clear some space for other trophies.

As the old gunfighters say, it is better to be accurate than it is to be fast! That is how they get to be old gunfighters.. at least, that's my theory.

Revenge is.......sweet won the event at this weekends festival, fortunately did not have to shoot the wife on the way but i got the guy that did in the final.... the force is now in equilibrium Padawan.

As my old DI used to say: "What's the best defense against ______ (insert your choice) ??? TWENTY ROUNDS!
