Probably a bit off topic - but this thread reminds me about some beautiful cars which have been destroyed in the US during the "cash for Clunkers" programe, which took place during 2009.
I took some pics of cars which were on it's way to be destroyed at a dealer (Des Moines, IA) , and at the time I thought it would be nice to have one of those parked at my front door .........

Lots of older classic American Muscle Cars with bad motors and fairly straight sheet metal went to the crusher. Car magazine editorials usually ran with something like, "Oh, the horror..."
