Title: Swingarm locknuts
Post by: BooG on September 29, 2008, 04:10:20 PM
Just finished an 11 hour session!! Pushrod tubes sorted..heads and pistons de-coked..have turned my attention back to the driveshaft gator, but I can't seem to loosen the locknuts. They are not having it. I've asked them nicely with gentle hammer strokes on the box spanner, and with heat, but no joy! I'm thinking that I will have to do the 27mm socket ground down, with an extension bar to help loosen them. Is this usual? Any tips welcomed as usual.

I just finished adjusting and tightening mine and they are supposed to be torqued down well (105 Newton Meters).  So they are probably too tight for a mere spanner.  You will need a socket and a long (12-18") breaker bar or ratchet

My Lock nut socket is a Great Neck 1-1/16" half inch drive SK59.  No grinding required!!!
