Title: Roof Rat Activity
Post by: Bob_Roller on September 04, 2011, 04:47:22 PM
I posted a while  ago about roof rat activity in my attic about 15 months ago .

No real evidence of activity in my backyard since September last year .

About 1 pound or .5 kilo of bait has been consumed in the last week .

There's gonna be a lot of dead rats in my neighborhood soon !!!

That's enough bait to kill over 300 rats .

I'd expect that the odor will confirm their location and your effective radius!

The active component in the bait, is an anti-coagulant, the rats hemmorage internally after eating it and search for a water source.

I have recorded .35 inches of rain since the first of February this year, no standing water to speak of for 7 months, so they are roaming far to find water.

With the heat we have here, after they expire, they mummify/dry out so fast, they almost don't have a smell to them .

Does it work on politicians, lawyers and tele-marketers?

I've had  my Rat Zapper outside, for weeks and not once has it been tripped, seems like they a quite wary of it .

I've killed rats, ground squirrels and grey squirrels with my zapper.  I put it along the wall where they walk in my carport.  But the real trick is the peanut butter and dry catfood combination that draws them in.   :)

I have tried dry pet food, even some dry pet rodent food to no avail .

The rats only take the bait in one corner of the backyard, if I place it anytwhere else, they don't touch it .

Kinda odd .
