Time for a new helmet, and this time I am going back to a modular (flip-up) style of helmet. I liked the last one I had (BMW brand), but that was so long ago they are no longer available and I am sure the technology has changed.
So my big question is --- what brand/models of modular helmet are good? I am seeking one that is not real heavy, does not have excessive wind noise, easy to raise and lower, and has a good strap system.
Any recommendations for what ones I should seriously look at?

I have 2 Caberg one full face one open they work for me i like the built in sun visor.

Schuberth is back in the U.S. (if that is where you are, you don't state). I would have to travel to Louiville, KY to try one on, though.

Please do let me know when you find one that meets all those specifications. I'd like to buy one, too.
I have a Fulmer modular that is very comfortable, has a secure strap and is easy to open and close. Wind noise? Well, nothing current to compare it with. I need a modular style helmet for the ease of getting it on and off... while wearing my specs and audio aids. With my custom "poured" ear bobs, I can simply turn 'em off and have effective hearing protection.
Many of the modular helmets -including my Fulmer- are a bit heavier than the less complicated, full-face buckets; although I don't seem to notice any neck strain after a lengthy ride.

I have an AGV 'Longway'. From the reviews I've read, one of the quietest lids around. Also a washable liner. I like it and it is not too pricey.
The only weak point is the little plastic thingies that hold the visor on th the helmet. I had them copied here on "The island of the dogs" - machined from Teflon/

Yep, Monte, I do have a bit of a wish list in a helmet.
Upon doing some more research, I have found that the original BMW modular helmet was made by Schuberth. I really liked that old thing, it was comfortable and fairly quite. So maybe I will have to take a hard look at Schuberth -- but the price --- wow and ouch. I have been holding onto some money from winning a football pool that may help ease the pain if go with Schuberth.
The HJC SyMax II and CL Max II both look interesting. I may have to check them out. Look to be a good bang for the buck.
Thanks for the leads on Fulmer and AGV. I will take a look at them. Caberg appears to be an issue here in the US.
As usual, I will have to try them on, and fit is likely to be a big factor.

Caberg distributor no longer in the USA. Vemar is back in the USA. They have a reasonable flip-up with the sunshield. Might be a bit noisy but no worse than most of them. Take a boo at the Scorpion EXO-900 which has a neat air pump deal for snugging up the cheek and neck padding....if it works and stays working. The Vemar has an odd gapping in the neck roll which needs plugging with foam using velcro IMHO. I like it though. Maybe better lids out there. $279.00 without Bluetooth which is not good enough yet technologically at >60mph.
Can't go wrong with the Schubert if the dollars allow.

We have 2 HJC Symax helmets (about 8 years old) and like them OK. They are noisier than a traditional full helmet and the visor will fog when fully closed unless I treat the inside with an anti-fog cleaner.

Fulmer helmets have not been available via internet sources. You'll need to find a dealer that stocks them. Not a bad thing. I would not buy a helmet or a pair of boots unless I get to try them on first.

Update:
I had the day off today, and went helmet shopping. Bottom line -- I bought the Schuberth C3. It really fit me good, and reminded me a lot of the my old BMW modular helmet which had been my favorite over the years. The Schuberth is light weight, has good visibility, and has a *very* secure retention system. (My thanks to the football pool entrants last year who helped ease the pain).
