Ok mybe i put my last post in the wrong section.......but now my brain hurts, ive been trawling through endless websites trying to track down the spec for the color "champagne" no joy .
Does anyone know the RAL number or color specification or any where i can get the info to match it.
I understand it was a limited production color with a double pinstripe but thats as far as ive got ive seen a few pictures but not enough to pin it down

I have a BMW history book with color samples and paint codes for all models produced between 1970 - 1985. There are a variety of silvery-goldy colors/paint code combinations but none of them are called "champagne". If you can give me the year and model of your bike - I assume model is R65 - then I can give you a list of what your choices could be.

Does this help to answer any questions?
If not, poke around the site a bit, there's lots of info there...

According to RealOEM the color was called Silver Beige #047 and had an Olive #111 pin stripe

The paint scheme is #548

This is verified on this website...

Hope this helps. The paint codes can be matched by any Glasurit paint dealer.

Your DuPont jobber should also be able to match them in their European Spies Hecker line as well...

On my 1980 the color is called "Silver Beige". The paint code on the sticker under the tank is "548".
Good luck,

If you are not going back with the original color then just pick out a color you like. I think folks get too hung up on "factory" colors unless they are doing a resto that will be hitting the sho/competition circuit. All of our bikes are the "wrong" color! ;)

Go for it Lou!
Gumby's "Silver Beige" '80 model is an unusually rare look. I think it's quite handsome. Of course I'm colorblind... ;D
