Title: Sunbeam Sighting
Post by: Melena on June 19, 2010, 12:04:35 AM
Hey Darwin R65!

I saw 2 Sunbeams driving down our Hwy 101 here in Sonoma County today.  Very cool little topless cars.   ;)  The front one looked like the back fender was bent up out of shape.  But otherwise these 2 cars seemed to be really nice.  They took an offramp shortly after I saw them though so I didn't get a really good look.  I kind of had to keep my eyes on the road too.   ::)

Nice little sports cars, similar in appearance to MG's but different.

But they are actually a different company to the Sunbeam motorbikes. The bikes are really BSA using Sunbeam brand to appeal to the gentry.

I would have loved to have seen the pair driving together though.

thanks Melena.

We had a little Sunbeam Minx when I was growing up.  That's the one I crashed two weeks after I got my license... :-/

Any relation to the Hillman Minx of the 50's?

I drove a Hillman Gazelle for a short while, it was like the premium model to the Minx
