That doesn't sound too comforting at all.
Can anyone explain why anyone needs to walk around with a gun, concealed or unconcealed in the first place - unless going to a shooting range or hunting trip?

Because there's a lot of evil people out there who think nothing of car jacking, drive by shootings, and home invasions. In the US states that border Mexico - Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California - we are covered up with illegal aliens and contrary to what the talking heads in the so-called mainstream media would have you believe, a lot of them are not here for the better life and a road to citizenship. It gets worse all the time. The first right that every person has is the right to defend themselves. I choose to excercise that right.

If you don't like the offhanded way allegedly trained and licensed drivers handle their cars, what makes you think you'll like the way they handle guns?
I don't have a problem with people who are interested, focused and enthusiastic about them to have them and carry them. They will handle them with the care and respect they deserve.
But this makes me think of the truck driver in the "Phx Motorcycle Massacre" thread carrying one around.

The US border states with Mexico, are an undeclared 'war zone', due to drug and illegal immigrant smuggling .
The two major 'cash crops' into the state of Arizona from Mexico, are drugs and illegal aliens .
Arizona's three main exports to Mexico, are stolen vehicles, drug money and guns !!!!!!
Arizona has had an 'open carry' law for decades, you can legally carry a weapon, as long at it's in plain view .
If you are ever in Arizona after July of this year, and get pulled over for a traffic violation, be prepared to be facing down a gun as a law enforcement officer approaches your vehicle .
Arizona is even ready to take on the federal government, by passing a law, that any weapon or ammunition manufactured in the state of Arizona is exempt from any federal law governing firearms, as long as that weapon or ammunition is not transported outside of the state of Arizona .

I wonder how much respect a motorcycle with a sidecar would get, if the sidecar had a machine gun mounted on it, like BMW's had in WWII ?

This is not going to stop the drug dealers and smugglers.And with law like this is going to get worst.
So after July,AZ will be our fun zone.Wild,Wild West.
You also can teach kids how to recognize the bad guys and shoot them.

It would be great if we could end the drug wars, but what's reallly fueling it is the incredible demand for drugs by people here in America. How do we fight this problem?

The company that I work for, Southwest Airlines, wanted to get rid of the company that cleaned the overnight aircraft in Chicago, and have their own employees perform the work .
They interviewed, and hired 127 people for the positions .
Last part of the pre-employment process, is a drug test .
Only one person didn't test positive for illegal drug usage !!!!!
