Title: Going To Be A Hot Day!!!!
Post by: Bob_Roller on July 12, 2009, 08:01:25 AM
Left for work at 0515 this morning, 91 F. (33 C.) outside .

Got to 114 F. (46 C.) yesterday afternoon .

Forecast high for today 115-117 F. (46-47 C.).

Thank goodness the R65 has 'air conditioning', as it might be a warm ride home this afternoon if it didn't !!!

Just for informational purposes, got to 115 F. (46 C.) at 1710 yesterday !!

But at least it was a 'dry heat" !!!!

Poured water on myself including the mesh Joe Rocket jacket just before I left work, and it brought the 'realized' temperature down a noticeable amount .

Winter ( -15 F, snow, ice) sucks  a lot more than 115 F. , in my low desert dwellers opinion !!!

OMG. My heart goes out to you Justin and others - seriously.

It's been a cool 14C day here but I'd rather have it that way than the other.

There is a limit of how many clothes you can actually take off.

I rode to work with my gloves on this morning - it was 37 F (new record low for July 14 in Cadillac, Michigan)!

On going weather info, clear SUNNY, 115 F.(46 C.) at 1715, a 'dry heat', relative humidity is 5 % .

As of today, the daytime high temperature is not forecast to be below 110 F.(43 C.) until Monday of next week, when it will 'only' get to 109 F.

Pool temperature is 95 F.(35 C.), not even refreshing, until you get out, and then it feels like you are freezing, due to the evaporational cooling .

Bob, You should take a ride to the top of Mt. Lemon, that'll cool you down.

I visited Tuscon once ...layed around the pool in the morning decided to drive to the top of Mt. Lemon stood on several feet of snow on the same day.

It's 100 F. on Mt Lemmon at 1745 .

Not much relief for riding 145 miles in 115 F. temps !!!!!!!!!!!

93 F. (34 C.) at 0500 this morning, gee think it's going to make the forecast 115-116 F.(46-47 C.) this afternoon  ?

Wow, you're welcome to that.  It's supposed to be 95 here today, which is too hot to ride.

At least that's my story since I have the final drive off the R65 for some work, and I badly sprained my kick starter ankle so I can't ride the Triumph.  Yep, too hot anyway.   :-/

I was changing the tires on the R65 last night and a tire iron slipped out and whacked my sprained ankle.  That hurt.

Might have to get out the coat today, it's about 14 degrees cooler than it has been at this hour the preceding several days.  But, I'll probably cage it as there is about a 40% chance of t-storms this evening about the time I get off work...

Oh God Bob - I don't want to rub it in - but I woke this morning and it was the second warmest July temp on record - a huge 17C.

I rather enjoyed it.

However - I really think that 30C water coming out of the cold water tap is just a bit rich for me. Guess I'm just a cold weather type of fellow...

We've been given a reprieve the past few days with some rain and somewhat cool (for July) temps in the mid 90s! :-)
