Thank goodness for spring! It has been absolutely beautiful this week. I've even gotten out for a longish walk during my lunch hour. That's going to be my habit for the rest of spring, summer and fall! Even if it's raining! It's just not cold anymore. It is so gorgeous around here. Today it got over 80 F. It's amazing that it's snowing in parts of Texas, tornados in the south and flooding in North Dakota. Our weather may end up getting us into a drought again, but for now I feel good! 8-)
I took this picture the other day of the lilac bush in my yard. All those blooms are fully out now. And it smells sooooooooo good.

How wonderful to live in a temperate zone! I'm getting a bit bored wwith the tropics!
-
Bite me, it's 34 degrees as I type this... >:(
-
So sorry, Justin. It will get better. Soon you will be complaining about the heat! ;D
At least you don't live in Fargo, ND. [smiley=drowning.gif] I sure hope no one on this forum lives there. :(
Sorry Balibeemer! Somehow I just can't feel sorry for you! ;) That is a very lovely picture. I can just feel the tropical breezes blowing across my skin.

Yeah, the 100s are right around the corner! :P

Got me a bit of a sunburn today taking in a street festival in a nearby College town. Soon I'll have to limit riding to the wee hours or after dark. A summer time run up the excellent California coast may provide an escape from the coming desert furnace season. Maybe I can get Bob and Fast Cat to flee as well. Melina you got cots?
rich :)

Well, not too much room, but I got a floor. I can always make room for my R65 buds! 8-) I'd love to have you guys come up here. I could show you some really cool roads! Let me know so I can take some days off work. ;D

And if you keep heading north give me a holler.
It was snowing yesterday morning as I headed to work. Dry today but 32 degrees. I love my First Gear jacket!

And you'd have a gathering for the flag to attend! Could pick up some of those west coast member signatures and a pic!

I'm hoping to get a bit of sunburn this weekend too, as Willville opens up for the 2009 season. Yeehaw! I highly recommend that Sue come down sometime this summer and spend a few days there too.
Aida, I assume you and Graham will be in attendance?
I'm riding up Friday morning, maybe even Thursday if I can get away. Weather's looking good too.
See y'all there. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Autumn is just peeking around the corner here in the Southern Hemisphere.Temps are in the low to mid 20's,but still T shirt weather, dark when I get up at 7.00am.Daylight Savings stops this weekend - so I can get up in daylight again, but it will be dark much earlier.
This will be my first winter with the R65,I hope to get in more riding than I used to with my adventure bikes.

Saw my first robin yesterday ! It is (for me, at least) a true indicator that spring time is here in the northeast. That, and the fact that all our dirt roads have again become mud-bogs. We still have a fair amount of ice and snow on the ground, and the lake is still frozen over, but the ice is at least starting to pull back from the shoreline a foot or two.

Our American freinds will think your mad rideing in a "T" shirt at 20 degrees but reassure them its 20c not 20f.

The cacti are blooming here in the south central low desert of Arizona, that's my 'official' sign that spring is here. [smiley=2cents.gif]
It's turned real dry here, going into February, we were ahead of average for precipitation, then after the first week of Feb., the rain turned off.
My wildflowers usually don't dry out until mid May, and right now, it looks like they are done for the season.
Yesterday at about 4pm, the relative humidity was 2%, and a dew-point temperature of -13 F. on the patio in the backyard.

Yep, we're heading up on Friday. I think we're planning on hauling the dirt bikes up to look for some good backroads to ride. Once the sun comes out on Saturday!

The weatherman has promised us up to 65F this weekend which is really a high temp for this time of the year. If the wh8la2 had been ready for driving, y'all know where I'd be, but alas, due to my great amount of thumbs and general lack of routine, the assembling of the x-thousand parts has taken a little longer than expected and hoped for.
Did you know that to mount the exhaust pipes you have to dismantle the sidestand and that once the exhaust pipes are in place and everything is torqued up to the recommended levels, it is not possible to put the sidestand in place again because of the exhauspipes being in the way? >:(
Now you do. ::)
greetings from a sunny and warm north

What side stand are you using? I just put a Surefoot on my R65 yesterday and it doesn't involve the pipes. I had to remove them to take off my old side stand, though. That whole job took a lot longer than I thought it would.
The Surefoot looks like it won't scrape on left handers like my old stand did. I wonder what will.

Another sure sign of spring showed up here this morning - we had a flock of 10-12 loons swimming in our lake this morning - they're migrating back northward now, AND our lake officially melted yesterday, quite quickly, too. Yesterday morning there was still ice going out at least 100 yards from shore, and this morning, it is all gone, completely.
I finished up installing my new dual FIAMM horns and taking pictures for the wiki today - got the tank back on, etc. and of course, our road way out to the pavement is again an impassable 1 mile gauntlet of foot-deep porridge. Maybe I should look for an R80GS for my next airhead...

Well at the 'top' end of the world...we have hit autumn (fall) with a bit of vengence (not I hasten to add that I'm complaining). The leaves are turning and I can smell woodsmoke as people begin to crank up their fires.
I love this time of the year.
Bought a 'new' Mountain bike on eBay a couple of weeks ago (a Cannondale dual suspension, Super V) but the seller has refused to ship it. So, over Easter I'm heading to Victoria to pick it up. Pity it will be in the car rather than on the bike. Should be rather 'interesting' to see where the fires have been...

We have just come off daylight saving, and the mornings are better, but it got dark pretty quick after work today. We have had a monster high parked over us the last week, and the weather has been bliss.Crisp mornings, nice warm days, not a cloud in the sky and no wind.If only the bike was going (dead battery),but have been tied up with family things anyhow. They have plans for Easter too - but I'll see if I can sneak off to check out the new front tyre I will fit on saturday.
