Title: PC680 - 4 year and 4 months.
Post by: Semper Gumby on September 02, 2008, 12:32:48 AM
The Odessey PC680 in the R65 was deader than a doornail tonight in the company parking lot.  Had to get my sainted wife to rescue me (and jump start the bike).  Rode home on the Alternator (with a high idle).

I thought these batteries were supposed to last longer?

Funny.  I was talking to my buddy Ron Mass who is going to put a Lead Acid in the Race Norton because the gell cells act like ni-cads.  When they die the die suddenly.

Looking at my records the first Odyssey I bought was Feb, 2004, so maybe it's about to die?

That's probably the projected lifespan (including storage) some pointy-headed engineering geek type made a WAG at...  ;)

SG, I wonder if AGM batteries can "sulphate"?  If so, it'd be interesting to hook this desulphator up to it to see if it would wake it up...
