Any of you folks out there who are interested in feats of engineering (or just like looking at strange buildings) will enjoy this link. (I know I did!) ;)

Cool, John, thanks. I've always had an eye for unusual architecture myself, and some of these are really killer. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Here's a local favorite, the "World's Largest Chest of Drawers", just down the road in High Point, NC, Furniture Capital USA.

Just how tall is the chest, Steve ? Would be nice to have a motorcycle parked in front of it to provide a sense of scale (hint, hint) ;)

Mike, your question got me wondering too, so I did a bit more research.
No bike pics, there's no real place to park, but here's some people in front of what is basically a 5 story structure - it really is a full building out back.
Year built: 1920's
Material: plastic on steel frame
Height: 40 feet
Sock length: 6 feet
Originally built in the 1920's as the World's Largest Bureau, the building was enlarged and refurbished in 1996 and now serves as offices for the High Point Jaycees.

Good thing that my wife didn't see this thread - she'd want one of those for her clothes !
And then she'd go shopping to make sure she could fill it ! :o

Good to know Australia is not the only place for 'big' things...
We have the big Ned Kelly (Bushranger), the big pineapple, the big prawn, the big lobster, the big banana, the big orange, the big koala......
Oh - God help us!
-
Oh - and the big rocking horse...
-
Oh yeah, I forgot about the "Big Chairs" in Thomasville, just down the road from High Point, and the "Highboy" back in High Point too, all 85 feet of it!
For generations this area has been the furniture capital of the USA, but sadly, the times they are a' changin',
