Sigh!  I'm staying home and painting both bathrooms.

Might make it out to see some fireworks though.

We're probably going to be grillin' all weekend, so it will vary from burgers & bratwurst to chicken and steak, and maybe some
corn on the cob.   My mom is coming to visit, and my mother-in-law is also coming to visit for the weekend.  I am hoping that
all the fireworks going off are up in the sky and not in my backyard ! ;D

Ah, I'm kidding, they get along fine ! :D

I'm going to thin trees up in the woods until I'm ready to collapse.  That only takes about 4 hours....  Then I'll stagger back to house, shower, maybe eat, and collapse.  It's a good life.  Hopefully I'll wake up in time to watch the city fireworks from the roof of my house.   :)

Got a lot of cooking going on. Starting with babyback ribs smoked in my wifes home made BBQ sauce. A couple 5 LB chickens in olive oil and garlic, 10LBS of burger and a handful of dogs. I'm tired already...

I just found out Saturday morning is a Triathlon weekend here in Indy, so I will be participating in that!  ::)

(Our local BMW club does marshaling for the bicycle portion...)

That's a pretty fun gig, huh Rob!  Our club did that once a LOONNGG time ago (back in my passenger days).  They still do it now and again if they can wrangle up a crew.  It's weird zipping through town way faster than the speed limit with the cops motioning you on...  :o

I'm down with the grillin' idea, and am sure JJ would be too.
Who has a grill? Will let us use one?
Might have to settle for store-bought ice cream, though.

Can we officially put you in charge, Aida? ;)

Sounds good to me, although we might have to use the pavillion at Willville to grill under, since it looks like a 60% chance of rain on Saturday.  Just checked the weather forecast for Meadows of Dan, VA this morning.  (groan....)  :(

Story of my life.... My one chance for a weekend ride/camp this year, and it will probably rain all weekend.  Oy....

haven't been to Kroger yet, but I'll be grilling whatever meats have been marked down for quick sale (my favorite cut!).

I'm becoming a master at the mixed grill...figuring out which types/cuts of meat to throw on at which point so they all finish up cooked properly at the end (meaning the beef is rare, the lamb it very pink, the pork just slightly rosy, the chicken perfectly white, and the seafood flaky but still moist.)  Now if only I could remember that there are veggies and sides to take care of.....

Shoot I better run over there while the grabbin's good!

I went by the local Kroger about 1015 hours this morning, July 4th, and the place was packed!  Picked up three cases of cool ones and a couple cans of mixed nuts.  I'm good to go.

My bride has been in New Mexico all week for a school conference and gets home this evening in time for the "fireworks".  [smiley=happy.gif]

Great to see the responses. Seems to be a wide range. I'm passing on any home improvement activity and even tho Beer & nuts would be easy and satisfying I've settled on a Flank Steak. Big ground beef recall here so no burgers! Hope everyone has a safe long weekend and a photo or two of all ya all celebrating in R65 regalia would be neat. It could be titled A day in R65.org.
