I've got a question for anyone with some computer know how.
My question is why I get emails from the Weather Channel about weather alerts, and the email was sent days earlier, and I'm just getting them posted on my email account?
Also all of my email shows a post time of 11 minutes after the hour, it's just something I noticed about a week ago.
Just curious if anyone has an explanation for this !

Maybe some sort of e-mail filtering going on on yahoo's mail server? You'll need to ask them.
As an aside, it seems that a lot of the people that have had registration issues (i.e. not getting their confirmation e-mail) were using yahoo for mail...

I strongly suspect (though don't have hard data to prove it) that they are quarantining emails for AV scanning before letting them go on to the intended recipient. It is probably done in "batches" or increments on certain servers, based on a schedule to try to "load level" their systems. Back in the old days of the internet, many systems were interconnected via more restrictive communications links, so many systems were "store and forward", meaning that they would store all incoming email, and forward it onto the next link in the system at prescribed times .
While Yahoo may do something about virus scanning, etc. they don't seem to do anything about SPAM messages as most of my SPAM seems to still come from Yahoo systems, or other systems that are spoofing the yahoo domain...

It's delay from your providers (yahoo?) server. These problems pop up intermittently on other services as well. I've tried yahoo for some of my 'throw away' email accounts and thought their service / interface was rather clunky and spam ridden. Have a go at Google's free e mail called 'G mail'. I have a few accounts over there and like it so much I may abandon my providers 'pop' account. Heres a tip to keep spam down. whenever you buy stuff over the internet do it with a 'throw away' account to prevent your primary mailbox from filling with spam.
