I just got home from work, and starting 5 weeks of vacation ! It's been 11.5 months since I've had anything other than a weekend off ( that's when I've even gotten one), worked all holidays ( usually double shifts ). I'm ready to GOOF OFF GOOD ! Barring any major problems, the R65 will be on the road within 24 hours.

5 WEEKS! You won't remember how to get to work when it's time to go back! I have to struggle to get two days off at a time, as there's nobody to take my place. At least I rarely work weekends. Too bad, that, as the overtime would let my pay off my R65 parts.
Have fun! Any big plans?

I'm working on the R65 right now, and I'm having problems synching the carbs. I just went to pull the plugs, and I found the right cylinder a lot cooler than the left, so I'm going to look at the ignition leads and see if the right one has worked it's way out of the Dyna coil. It's done this before.
I've noticed I don't have a neutral indication, and I need to pull the clutch lever in to start the engine, so I don't know if the neutral switch is bad, or if I have a problem with the transmission.
It looks like I've got a few problems to work out yet !!
I don't have too much planned, this week it's car and bike annual maintenance. The CRX gets a front brake job tomorrow, new pads and rotors, and maybe a brake flush, it all depends on how the bleeder screws look, if they are quite rusted, I'll just leave them alone, I don't want to get involved with caliper changes if I don't have to !
I've got a back roads 'assault' planned, taking US 191 " The Devils Highway" in eastern Arizona, then into New Mexico, for 'Winery Tour '07'.
Taking 5 weeks off, is about the only way for me, I've been doing this since '84, and it seems to work for me. Also being the low man in seniority in a union shop, I get what's left for vacation, that's why I can't get out to any bike rallies, as I can't get off during the summer, let alone holiday weekends. It takes 2 weeks for me to get out of 'work mode', after 5 weeks you're ready to go back to work.
The weather is finally co-operating, it's about 79 F. 6 % humidity and 25-35 mph winds. I should be out riding, not working on the bike today !!!!

Hey Bob, enjoy all those weeks of vacation. Been retired now for almost six years. Still lovin' it. If only I had more cash.......Dew.

Geez..... Five weeks! What to do, what to do...... Oh, yeah, ride some place!!! ;D

Today was the first day back to work !!
It felt like I had just left yesterday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It almost felt good to get back, and 'play' with 737's again.
I don't think I could retire anytime soon, not that there's much chance of that happening !!

Bob, like you, I also get 5 weeks of annual vacation time. although it's nearly impossible to take more than 1 week off at a time, and 2 is definitely the max. I also get 12 sick days and 13 holidays, so end up taking lots of long weekends, and "extended" holidays, etc.
Unlike you, however, having spent 22 years working for the guv'ment primarily in the Social Services area, retirement is very much at the forefront of my mind these days... ;)
Getting very tired of this [smiley=argue.gif] [smiley=steinigung.gif] [smiley=wall.gif] [smiley=drowning.gif] [smiley=beehive.gif]

I've heard that in Germany most large companies shut down for the month of august plus you still get your annual weeks of vacation on top of that. I should of stayed with Leica / Leitz 30 years ago!
