I think that Sue should be getting royalty payments from this or something..
I just noticed in my Motorcycle Classic magazine that Aerostitch is selling a product
called "The Mat" for allowing you to easily spin your bike around in place while it
sits on its centerstand. Capacity is 600 lbs, so it will work great for our svelte little
R65s and R100s. My Kawasaki Concours will overload it though, especially if full of fuel.

Arrrggh! :'( It would seem my idea did have some merit and as usual I missed out. My invention cost no more than $7.80..not $78.00!! Just move the decimal and save big!! For those of you who don't remember the Krazy Karpet Bike spinner...I just bolted two pieces (about 18"X18") of heavy vinyl kid's Krazy Karpet toboganning mat together. They are usually sold for $2.99 and you can get both pieces from one toboggan mat. Spray cooking Pam in-between the two layers and glue some non-slip drawer liner on the bottom. Our bikes spin with one finger!! Easy on the centrestand.

How about pics? I've never seen 'heavy vinyl kid's Krazy Karpet toboganning mat'. Don't get enough snow around here for that kind of stuff I'm afraid!

I think I know what she means, it's a semi-rigid plastic. She bolted the two pieces together, so the top one won't slip off the bottom one. I would probably rivet them.... I don't have Pam but have silicon spray so I would use that. I think I'll make one, as I turn my R65 around on the center stand pretty frequently. On my smooth concrete floor it's not difficult, but Sue's invention would be even easier on the center stand. I see those toys around at garage sales and stuff, I bet I can do it for less than 5 dollars!

Sometimes the top piece will ruck up like a rug even though it is bolted together. Rivet would be fine too..but the trick is getting the centrestand standing on the middle of the spinner or very close to centre.
Hmmm..I'll try to get a photo...it looks pretty ratty now...I don't need it anymore as I have the Brrrm Closet for the 2 bikes and I ride in the front door and out the back door, then turn the light bikes around in the backyard and back into the Brrrm Closet facing out! I'm getting good at this now as I have a wee slope to ride up which helps backing up for the three point turn on lumpy grass.
You defintely can make one for less than $5.00!!! Any greasy stuff will work as the lubricant and the vinyl is slippery to start with.
My spinner handled the 620 lb. Baby Huey R1100RT just as well as the R65LS. Much easier to get the RT onto the centrestand too. Just a better design. The F650GS has a lousy design with no leverage points for little me. I have used my Canadian Tire lift, (read Harbor Freight here, if you are in USA) to get the F650GS off the floor for winter.
