Title: Painting my rims

I have painted my rims on my 1979 R65 with Dupli Color paint.  The match looks very close to the original color.

Should I clear coat them for a better protection?

Did you use an etching primer over the bare aluminum?

Hi Just,

No.  I wire brushed and sanded with out using any primer.  Big mistake?
