Title: Time for a winter project
Post by: marcmax on November 30, 2018, 06:52:22 PM
I bought a running R65LS that was missing a lot to use as a spare parts bike. It has sat neglected for years. I am finally going to do something with it but I'm not sure just what yet. Its missing all of the body work, fenders, seat. Fuel tank was rotted out on the bottom so that is gone.

I did find a good deal on an R80ST tank and it looks kind of sexy on it so it will not be a restoration.

We know that it isn't really a tank from an LS (since you told us), but if it were painted the correct color, would anyone know the difference?  I was of the impression that these tanks (R65, R65LS, and R80ST) were identical except for finish.  At any rate, it looks good on there.....I see LOTS of possibilities!
