I have made my tweaks and this is what I have came up with:
-
A good looking piece of kit Justin. Well done you. :)
-
Very nice, Justin!
I think of you often, nowadays, as I ride along with my feet on the passenger pegs... ;)

Rob, I've been staring at a bike and thinking about this. Don't you think having a shift lever hanging down between the two pegs might kinda get in the way and causing constant bruising of the ankles and lower shin? ;) It may be doable with some sort of fixture containing a specially angled shift lever bolted behind the rider peg. Then a linkage rod could be fabricated and hooked into the primary shift lever. I see why rear-sets cost so much now, never really put much thought into them before...
I plan on making a version of this shifter without the "heel" portion so would probably use something like that with a modified angle between the toe portion and where the selector rod attaches.

I think Rob just needs full rear sets. :D
-
Then you have to ride all hunched over in town so you can shift and brake! :o I see the alure of a secondary shifter on the rear peg but also wonder if it might get in the way around town...
-
I think the dual shifter is not likely to see the light of day. I wouldn't loose too much thought-time on it!
Rear-sets have been on my mind for decades, now, but I really like having a variety of places to put my feet.
