Title: steering head bearings?

When you adjust the head bearings should you loosen them until you feel play,and then just take them up until the play just disappeares?is this correct way?J.

You want to tighten the steering head so that the forks will "flop over to the lock" under their own weight with just a bit of a nudge to get them started.  If they stop part of the way down they're too tight, too loose is kinda hard to describe.  It's a fine line...

...and if you get a new high speed weave/wobble, they're probably not quite tight enough.
