Dear all
I'm Jakob from Belgium.
I recently bought a 1979 (frame built 12/1978) R65. It has 40k miles on it. In the meantime, the valves have been set, the gas tank has become rust-free, the brake calipers and the carburetors have been rebuild,...
The next months i'll do some other works like installing progressive springs, new shocks, new tyres, steel brake hoses, some body work,...
-
My 2nd post... In the 3rd i'll post some pictures.

It looks beautiful Jakob.
Did you repaint the wheels? How many klms are on the bike?
-
Thank you. I did repaint the wheels (sanding, alu primer, silver grey alu wheel paint, clear varnish). It's not the original colour but maybe i'll change it again once...
The bike has 62k kms.

Your BMW looks very nice, Jakob. It is good that you have found this site, because many knowledgable people frequent these pages and you will be able to get many opinions and access to a substantial base of information.
Congratulations and Good Luck!
