Hello to everyone i am jack located on the border of London and Essex UK, retired nowadays and decided to relive a bit of my youth with the bike. I have an 1983 R65 in original trim with full touring fairing and twin panniers, its in pretty good shape but has spent a few years in storage, mileage from new still hasn't reached 9000. Currently i am giving it a good clean having serviced it first but its having a new from tyre, found a split in the original otherwise its all pretty original barring clutch cable , gear lever rubber and battery ( they never last in storage). The new tyre is coming tomorrow and i should have it ready to ride by the following evening, so weather permitting i should be out on it, looking forward to it.

Welcome.
You have to post pictures, or it isn't real.
The natives are friendly, providing you give them pictures.

The inmates around here get "restless" if not fed a few pics now and again...

Real cheesed off day, went to get new trye and tube fitted to front wheel after being told would call me when in, no call by 2.30pm so took a drive down tyre in but not "unpacked" , seeing as it was lying on the floor wrapped in plastic i suppose that qualifies then i watched two alledged tyre fitters struggle to put it together only to find they had punctured the new tube in the process so start again with a new tube, this time three of them including the boss managed to do it but couldn't get one of the beads to pop into position so they pumped it to 80psi stood it next to a heater and said can you come back tomorrow and this is a motorcycle tyre specialists. I have cancelled my circus tickets as there are better clowns in the tyre store.

Yup, real pros. It's not a funny situation, but your response is A+
