Title: First airhead and a new member
Post by: wynnstudio on October 08, 2017, 07:49:53 PM
Just purchased a '81 turquoise R65 with 30,000 miles. It came with most of it's service history and has been well maintained. 2 owners before me tried to cafe it so its missing a few pieces. It also came with a set of hard cases. Right now it's at Bob's BMW getting its state inspection and a once over.

Very nice Thomas! Got the dual stoppies already, that's a good thing. Seat cover, rear fender/mud guard and unwrap the pretty pipes and you'll be in business. I personally like the bars.

Have to get the wrap off. I would like a higher set of handle bars for my back.... :-[

And don't discount BMW Euro bars.  They have a forward lean to them, but are far from uncomfortable.

That's what my, '81 looked like when I bought it in January, 1981 !!

Kinda has a more blueish tint to it now, I guess 24 years of desert sun has effected the paint .
