I just signed up with a new host and will try to get the forum moved as soon as I am able. If anybody want's to help out with this hit the donate button. I'm not going to beg but it would be nice if I didn't have to foot the bill for everything...
-
Justin - just made a donation, can you confirm that r65@suraklyn.com is the correct recipient?
-
Tony - Yes it is.
I want to thank everybody who stepped up to the plate to cover the cost of the host move, I really appreciate it. I guess some of you really DO like this joint and it makes me feel kinda warm and fuzzy - I hate that! In all seriousness, though, this is a really good bunch of dudes, and dudettes, and I enjoy hangin' out with y'all.
This incarnation of the forum has been around since, I think, 2009 and when I started it as a "temporary" home where us inmates could hide from the spammers that took over, and ruined, the original forum. I had no idea that 8 years later the "temporary" forum would still be alive and kicking!

Great bunch of folks that come together for a common cause and all have checked their ego's at the door. It's refreshing to be able to be wrong and not suffer the Wrath of Khan or worse.

This site was invaded by ' Viking ' spammers around September 18-19, 2006 .
I went away on a three day bike trip, Aridzona and New Mexico short notice and when I got back the spammers had total control of the site . >:(
-
Donation made. Thanks again for the site.
-
Thanks, Burt. You Aussies have really stepped up!
-
Hey Justin, thanks for all your work to keep this fabulous community together, every time I bust my old bike I'm thankful to be able to get help from here. Donation made and I feel that keeping this site running smoothly must be harder than fixing the old beemers sometimes...
-
Thank you for all the work you do. Hosting a site can be an thankless job, but I sure do appreciate your hard work.
Glad to see that the new 'site' is up and running. I'm thankful that it wasn't me doing this. hahahaha
Donation made. If the R & R to the R45 wasn't costing me a portion of my liver and pancreas..........
-
Thanks, tunnel, I'm glad so many people feel the site is worthwhile.
Dee - Much thanks, hang on to the rest of your organs!
-
I too like this site it entertains me in the morning while drinking my coffee. Donated.
-
Thanks Justin for taking this on. My old bike would still be the almost dead if it were not for the solid and courteous global citizens on this forum. You admins and gurus rock.
-
I haven't been around much lately, but I got a lot of help here over the years, and really appreciated guys like you that put the effort in to keep forums going.
I made a donation, I wish it could have been more but I'm at a point in my life where health issues are making me consider whether I'm better off taking my SS early, rather than trying to work a couple days a week.
-
Thanks, trips. Take the SS. I took mine early and it starts this month. I had an honest SS rep explain to me how much I would loose by waiting and how long it would take to recoup the increased monthly amount and to me it was a no-brainer.
-
When I was 62 there was a penalty if you were still working and drawing SS........... at the time If I made what it took for me to live at the time, I would have had to give most of the SS back to them in penalty anyway........ so in my case it's was a no brainer too.
Now at 72 I'm still working but I get to keep all the gold...
-
Well, I would have to get SS disability, but at 60 with lifetime of construction work behind me, and a ruined body, most people, including my doctors think I would get it. It will seem weird, though, not working, I thought I always would, I never hated it like some.
-
trips, you've been a contributing member to society for decades !!!
I would seriously consider taking the disability from Social Security, if you qualify for it .
OK, possibly an offensive rant, but if the unproductive members of society have lived off the govenrment for decades of their life, you are more than due your share of what this coutry offers it's citizens, rant off !!!!!!!!!!!
-
I agree with "Hangin' Judge Bob" on that observation.
-
Great Bunch of Folks here
Thanks for all you do Justin :)
And to all who contribute
Thanks Again
Mark
