I just noticed today, that this site in it's current form came into being 10 years ago .

For members that were not here at that time, the previous R65.org was overrun with spambots the third week of September, 2006 .

The site had to be closed down, a Yahoo group site was formed until this site was up and running .

I would like to thank Justin B, admin on this site and his son, username here suraklyn, for their hard work and dedication to get this site established and to keep it running .

If it wasn't for them, I don't know if R65.org would even exist today .

Also a little background on this site, Jim Taggart, username here, ' sloth ' , was the founder of this site probably 17-18 years ago .

I found out about this site in 1999, had a posting on the BMW R65 Regsistry and a member from  R65.org, Rob Valdez sent me an email after seeing me on the registry site .

Thanks, Bob.  For the most part it's been a fun journey, except when things don't work right, and it sure beats being spammed to death!  That right there is worth the "price of admission" so to speak.

This package has all of the features I think are a must for a forum but it would be kinda nice to have a chat box and a couple other whiz-bang things.  I suppose the next incarnation of this board will necessitate a completely different software package with the requisite data conversions and other headaches that go along with it.  If anybody would like to volunteer...

And best of all, my beloved Nexus tablet is "unbanned" Yay!
