Title: Sad News
Post by: SCJJR65 on January 08, 2016, 02:00:33 PM
Hi, this is John Janssen, from SC (SCJJR65) and I have some sad news to pass along.  One of the first people I met on this site when I first joined back in 2003 was a British chap by the name of Will Hutchins, who also owned an R65 as well.  We became good friends over the years.  It is with profound sadness to inform you all that Will has passed away due to a sudden illness.  I was informed by Will a couple of months ago, and he asked me not to let anyone know, which I agreed to his wishes.

Will had a sharp wit, and loved to ride his beloved "Old Girl" as he referred to his 1980 R65 that he customized with a cool cafe fairing.  It was a one of a kind bike, and Will was a one of a kind guy as well.  I will miss him dearly.  :'(

It is always sad to find that a member of our small family has departed from us.   :(  I wish him Godspeed on his way to the great rally in the sky.

John, do you remember what his screen name was?  I have created a member group to place our departed members in so they may be fondly remembered.

On a similar note, does anybody remember what username old Wild Bill from Oz used to go by?  I'd like to add him to the memorial group as well.

You mean the Bill with one eye, right?  Had a special eyeball made up with a BMW roundel?

It'll come to me....

Edit:  I just skimmed all of the user names and I didn't see his (assuming I would recognize it when I saw it).  He was in Australia.

Aussie William "Bill" Emery is the gentleman that I was trying to recall. Bill was an early forum member and passed several years ago. Do not know what his screen name was.

I had saved the link to his Photobucket album with near 250 photos and found it today. Good information for Airhead owners within his photos. Want to know how the cables and wire looms were routed around the steering head? Check page 2. Not everything has info added to the snaps but you'll figure it out.

Thanks Montmil firstly for saving and now digging out the link to Bill Emery's fine photo's. As an airhead rider and Sydneysider, cruising through them was very nostalgic. Vale Bill Emery.

Sorry to hear, I haven't been on in a while, I believe it was Will that sold me the dual disc setup for my side car rig when he lightened his bike when he cafe-ed it.
