Interesting site provides details for DIY tool fabrication.
Several different areas available -automotive, woodworking, electrical, etc- but I checked out the motorcycle section's 383 ideas. Must be a dozen different, but similar, presentations for a five dollar manometer.

Thanks for that Monty - Living as I do on a different planet, that site will really come in useful!

Passed the wooden bike lift plan on to the joiner at work.
I'll post pics when he's made it.

I don't know if these plans for a wooden bike work stand are on there, or not. I got the link from "R65 Joan" on these pages over a decade ago!
It has really need software that allows you to rotate the views 360° in 3D.

The website came up as "Entertainment" here at work, so I can't verify weather it works or not. I always thought it would be cool to build, if I had someone to help me push the bike up and down.
Joan did build one, BTW.

Well, for some reason the picture of Joan's stand is not showing up here at work...

Rob, I believe I saw 5-6 different variations on wooden motorcycle work stands in the Homemade Tools site.
Great, if you have the shop space.

Excellent site - many thanks!

While I continue to investigate why all new electrics makes my engine function for only 5 miles or less, I decided to tackle the front forks. After watching Chris Harris's video on the R65 fork disassembly and reassembly, I quickly realized that I lacked the trusty helper who is always at Chris's side. I also lacked the fancy expensive fork clamp that fits into his bench vise.
With necessity being the mother of invention, I pressed an old wooden bar clamp in to service as a spring compressor to begin the process. I think it qualifies as a homemade tool. Worked like a charm.
