Hi all.....I have just started my first Airhead project, a '79 R65.
I am based in Nelspruit, South Africa so sourcing parts from US & UK is proving to be very expensive.
Looking forward to participating in your forum!
Progress to date!

Welcome Louis! A very interesting evolution of your bike. Is it still a work in progress, will lights remain off? The solo saddle might look pretty good on that bike.
What kind of mechanical upgrades, or maintenance have you had to do so far?
-
Welcome to our asylum, Louis.
I see bits of cafe, street tracker and dirt road runner influences in your R65 project. What's your vision for the bike?
-
Welcome Louis !!!
Looks like a great project you've got there .
Obviously you must have a lot of unpaved roads in your area .
The bike looks similiar to another member here, Motu, in New Zealand .

Welcome aboard, Louis!
A very interesting project there - I think it will look good !
For some reason, I would be compelled to add zebra stripes to it so it looked like the Jeep in the Daktari television show I enjoyed watching as a kid.
-
Welkom by hierdie mal en snaakse groep van maansiekes.Ek dink jy sal vind dat MOTOBINS in Engeland is die beste bet vir onderdele.Ek gebruik hulle, en ek is in Indonesiƫ!
-
Yes, Motobins is very good (If that's what Balibeemer said :)).
They have a considerable quantity of my funds with an ability to accept considerably more.
-
Welcome ..it looks a nice project, you just have to love the old clam shell air filter box it does finish the engine off and much prettier than the later plastic effort.
