Title: Newbie says Hello
Post by: Glosterboy on May 25, 2012, 03:10:50 AM
Hi EVeryone,
I've just signed up to the forum and have an '81 bike that has not been run since 2008, carbs in bits but otherwise complete. Hope to have it running before the end of the summer but who knows what may happen  :-?

Cheers for now,
Glosterboy

Welcome from a Swindonboy.  Not too far away.  In fact I was only hairing up the 419 into Gloucestershire this very week....Well as far as Cirencester anyway.

Plenty of info here and helpful peeps.

Welcome to the herd, Glosterboy

The Bing CV carbs are not terribly complicated. The enrichment bits -the mis-named "chokes"- are handed; there are left and right side parts that do not interchange.

if you spring for new rubber diaphragms, stay with the Bing product. Repops out there for sale but they will not function properly. Save the stress and money.

Quite a few web-based resources for overhauling the Bings. Shout out if you need assistance.

We require a photo of your bike. You mustn't upset the IoM fairies...
