Title: bmwr65.org lives on...
Post by: Justin B. on February 01, 2011, 08:49:46 PM
Just renewed the domain for another couple of years so we don't have to worry about being homeless...

Note: if the PayPal button refuses to work for you, you can send a payment directly from PayPal to the Justin at the following address: r65 at suraklyn dot com ~ Rob V.

Thank you!

Would it be impolite to ask what the bill was?  Just so we can all have a consciousness of what we might want to donate.

The donation pot took care of it.  :)

Well, I've gotten a lot of terrific information over the years and have met some wonderful folks.  I'd love to make a donation but can't seem to get it to work.  Perhaps you could walk us through the procedure once again?

Pretty easy, really.  Click the (https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.suraklyn.com%2Fimages%2Fdonate.jpg&hash=82439c845be64940608a23069dba61ef36ed4c44) button at the top of every page.

It will take you to PayPal where you enter the amount you wish to give.  I don't know if it makes a difference if you already have a PayPal account of your own, but I doubt it.
If you DON'T, however, you will need to arrange for payment through your credit/debit card, or with your checking account numbers.

I've never had a problem with PayPal and my checking account.  I've had an account with them since 2003.

It is the recipient (Justin) that has to pay to receive the money, so I always send a dollar or two extra to help cover that expense.  (it is based on percentage of money transacted)

Rob, I understand how Pay Pal works.  I use it quite frequently.  The problem is that when I click on the link the immediate message is "Sorry, Pay Pal cannot complete your transaction".  Just thought I would call that to Justin's attention in case there is a glitch in the system.

Well, I just clicked on it, and it went immediately to PayPal's site, just as it did for me at work last evening.

Justin, is there an email address we can use?  If you would like to send me a PM that way I can just log into PP and then forward some cash.  -Mike

Thank you for keeping the site up and running. It is a very impt. part of my life! Especially in winter when I cocoon inside. What wonderful friends I made made too! Hope to meet more members at the BMW National in Bloomsburg Pa in July.
Similar to my Dad's Ham radio hobby....he had friends all over the world too. He started as a Ham in 1919 so that's a lot of friends!!!! Had 67 years of it! Hope we all can beat that for longevity!

Computers can be so weird, most of the time.

Sue, you had a cameo appearance in a dream just a little while ago!  [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

You're welcome, truth be told you guys don't need a whole lot of babysitting so it's not the drudge that some other forums are!

Grrr!

I've been scrolling Mickey's four-digit white glove and clicking all over the PayPal icon for many weeks now. Still no joy.

I'll try again, and again, and again...

I've had the same problem with a non responsive Pay Pal button, but I just kept randomly punching it and I got through after awhile. I'm sure glad Justin paid the rent. Thank You. Sue my grandmother was big into the Pen Pal organization back in the early 60's, my two sisters and my cousins all had pen pals. Unfortunately I think I only wrote twice to mine. :-X This forum reminds me of Pen Pals. D2

Maybe you have a pop-up blocker that is getting a bit carried away?

I just clicked to donate my millions and it too chocked on the way to paypal. Clicked it 4-5 times and it just hangs on a blank page. I re-read the thread and see the "email" address so I will go to paypal direct and unload a few coins....... thanks for all the great work on a great site!

The button refused to work for me just now, too.

I added the following to Justin's initial post:

I don't know what to say.  The link always works for me and it just redirects to PayPal.  When you click it do you see a PayPal address in your browser's address bar?

Monte, you could always just mail a check to Justin, of course that would cost you a stamp.   [smiley=cool.gif]  I ended up going to the paypal site and sending an email to suraklyn directly.
