Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: Mike V on December 24, 2011, 11:22:25 AM
Wanted to send everything good to all of you out there.  I've been a bit out of touch on the forum with the usual busy stuff during the Holidays.  Haven't done much riding or wrenching as of late but try to check the forum whenever I can.

I hope the Christmas Season and the New Year will be a joyous and prosperous one with good health and safe riding for all of you.  I know the past few years have been a tough stretch for a lot of us out there.  I'm hoping we can all pause from our normal stresses and struggles a few days to enjoy family and loved ones during this time, even if for a few days.

Such a great forum here with true good folks.  Ride often, ride safe, and don't pass up that opportunity on the road to enjoy the simple things.  Hope to see you all on the road some day.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Mike V.

Hello to everyone and a happy and peaceful Christmas. I enjoy logging into the forum every day. There is so much knowledge here freely available that I feel confident that I can be directed through any problem my 83 R65Ls can throw up. We have a Christmas here in Ireland that is 24 C warmer than 2010 so it is possible  to bike. I am glad to say that I have no issues with rain since I fitted the Dyna coil as reccomended here.
Have a great Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.

I hope everyone out there in R65 land has a joyous holiday and a great New Year.  As our fellow R65 lovers in Deutschland say, "Froeliche Weinachten!"  (Merry Christmas!)   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

The temperature is a humid 29degrees celsius. It's raining, the Police are still soliciting Christmas bribes, and people are still dying in traffic accidents on the roads but at least there have not been any terror attacks. - Another Christmas in Paradise.

My wife, who is Muslim, has been directing our housemaid, who is Hindu, on how to put up Christmas decorations - Another Christmas in Paradise!

Seasons greetings to all.

Hi everyone!  Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year.

I haven't been on the forum for too long, but I wanted to make sure I sent my greetings.

I'll go out on a balsa wood limb, and say it's the intake port of an engine  (probably his R65)and you are looking at a valve stem and the lower part of a valve guide .

Got my Christmas ride in, on the way to work !!!

Lou,

Bob and maf are correct, again! The avatar is a closeup photo of my rebuilt R65 heads (valve stem & guide).  Can't remember if it was the intake or exhaust.  Here's a link to more photos of the heads, cylinders  and pistons after I received them back from Ted Porter.  He did an excellent job on them.  Purdy, huh?

Another happy Ted Porter customer!! Oak of BMW guru fame suggested him to me along with 2 others. Long way to send things but I felt LRB deserved the best.
Back to the greetings!!!

Ted Porter is a good guy.  I've met him.  He was a vendor at the Autumn Beemer Bash in Quincy CA for a few years.   I also ordered my new exhaust pipes and mufflers from him.  They are right on.

Cheers!  The New Year is getting closer!!   8-)

Merry Christmas to all here on the forum. I still marvel at the phenomenon of chatting globally about  something so apolitical and truly enchanting as motorcycles. It took me 54 years to discover the addiction! Thanks for being here! P.S. hello to Melena in Sonoma County.  So am I--Rohnert Park. :)

Thanks Justin!  I'm around.  Just life stuff.

Lowlander!   Well, well.  So glad to have another R65 in Sonoma County.  I'm in Windsor.  PM me and we can have  our own little R65 Rally right here.   8-)
