Title: New Member Introduction
Post by: sircee on August 30, 2011, 05:01:26 PM
HI All,
I am a new member. I do not currently have a BMW R65LS but it was my First BMW many years ago and I am looking to get my hands on one again as a restoration project. I thought this would be a good place to start.

Cheers

Welcome aboard!
Not everyone here still has an R65 either, but we're all here because we like 'em!   Though we have our favorites, we do like other bikes too - do you have any other cycles to ride?

Welcome aboard.  Although other members of the family have and ride R65s I didn't start until last summer.  So far I find the '65 quite a bit more enjoyable on the summer commute then the R1150RTP and the R100T just feels, well, boring!  The 1150RTP really shines in the winter and at freeway blasting but the '65 may remain my summer commute bike.  Guess I better try to find the R100 a good home...   :'(

Welcome, we all have to start somewhere, and this site is great starting point.  Lots of knowledgeable and friendly folks from around the world.
Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum SirCee.  Where are you in this old world?  Not to worry about not having an R65.  I've had a couple over the years.  Gave the last one to my son but still have an R90.  Lots of similarities.  And like the others say, it's isn't a requirement.  I love this forum because you won't find a nicer bunch of women and men who love the airheads.  Very civilized and no rancor like so many forums.  Fee free to ask questions and participate.
